Again....

It's been nearly 4 years(!) since I wrote, so...let's try again.  I'm currently teaching the Seven Signs of John and have been struck by the idea of abundance--Jesus doesn't just turn the water into wine, (as though that weren't enough), but it is superior and abundant.  The Greek term for gallon is much bigger than the modern usage--each of those purification pots held more than 100 gallons, and there were six.  Jesus takes the water used for purification under the Old Covenant and transforms it into the wine of the New Covenant.  And, it is abundant.  Unlike the water used for purification which ran dry, this superior wine will never run dry, it is the wine of the Messianic Era, which has broken into the current age of darkness.
